About Alex Berry


Alex Berry

Alex graduated from the University of Washington in 2009 with a B.A. in Anthropology. Furthering his educational goals, in 2013 he studied abroad in South Australia at Flinders University. During his Time in Adelaide, he completed three field schools through the university including marine geophysics, artifact conservation, and maritime archaeology. In 2015 he received his M.A. in Maritime Archaeology and holds two certificates from the Australasian Institute for Maritime Archaeology (AIMA) in Foreshore Archaeology. The subject of his thesis was on sea level fluctuations of the southern Salish Sea, assessing the archaeological potential for submerged precontact landscapes. Prior to employment with Drayton, his fieldwork experience has been from several archaeological studies throughout South Australia ranging from reconnaissance surveying to swim-line SCUBA investigations.
